Sometimes I hesitate to ask for prayer.

I convince myself, that compared to others, it is inconsequential or less weighty by comparison. But if I believe that I am a child of a Father who loves me beyond all measures…

If I believe He longs to be part of my every day…

If I believe I am part of a world of believers called to care for one another…

Then this is faulty thinking.

Earlier this year—after hesitating—I asked a small group to pray for an issue that is heavy on my heart.

One of the members commented: “This is HUGE.”

I felt heard and seen and loved.

Even if our prayer requests are not exponentially multiplied through the voices of others (God hears even one voice), lifting our hearts in prayer for one another deepens our connections, unifies our fellowship, and allows others to serve.

This is huge.
