My secret sister gave me this amazing bouquet. It was gorgeous when new. Vibrant. Thoughtful. Elegant.

What charms me? Prompts me to share it at this stage?

It looks fabulous. The colors are a little faded. The blooms droop.

This gives me hope.

A brand new bouquet is kind of like being in your 20s. Everything is fresh and new (and standing tall), But with each day that passes, everything droops a little. Stems break, leaves fall off, and the color fades.

Maybe it’s not age, but illness. Exhaustion, weakness, and pain fill your days.

3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

1 Peter 3:3-4

But there’s still so much beauty.

The lines. The shapes. The textures. The colors.

It’s just a different kind of beautiful.

Even when you think you no longer have purpose, keep going.

Be brave.

Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

Psalms 31:24

There’s still beauty to be found, and beauty to share with the world.
